โ™€๏ธ Feminist themes
2
Confidence:

The film critiques toxic masculinity through the villain Bruce Tucker, who targets female victims to assert control and compares his own performative, aggressive brand of manhood against the 'softer' Moses. His villainy is framed as a mask for cowardice and weakness, which the resourceful Zephyr must dismantle to reclaim her agency.

๐ŸŒฑ Environmental issues
2
Confidence:

The film incorporates environmental undertones by deliberately subverting shark horror tropes. It portrays sharks as morally neutral creatures within their natural habitat, making a moral argument that the true, destructive monster in the ecosystem is human cruelty.
